CONTAINER PACKING CERTIFICATE (CPC) SURVEY FOR DANGEROUS GOODS
UN-IMDG, SOLAS Chapter VII and LPK (Port Klang Authority) by-Laws amendment 1989 requires container packing certificate (CPC) issued by competent personnel as a mandatory supporting document in carriage of Dangerous Goods. The requirement of CPC is to insure proper safe handling / packing / declaration for ships, ports and terminals etc.
Universal Marine is an approved panel surveyor by LPK (Port Klang Authority) for issuance of DG-Container Packing Certificate.
In brief, our CPC inspection covers the following scope:
- Scrutinise the proper shipping name and UN No. of dangerous goods based on MSDS provided by the Exporter/Shipper/Supplier/Manufacturer against the IMDG code.
- Inspection of cargo packing group to ensure proper, marking and labelling as regulated by IMDG.
- Supervision of loading of DG cargo into CTU with right segregation between each DG Class.
- Witnessing proper securing and finally sealing of the CTU.
- Labelling of CTU on all 4 panels with proper DG placards / UN Number code.
- Issuance of Container Packing Certificate (CPC).
